Chico Bays

Chico bays, born in Columbus OH, started his martial arts journey at the age of 13 where he studied Tae Kwon Do at Ernie Reyes Jr’s academy. At age 28 he began his amateur career in MMA. By age 31 Bays had turned pro and was considered a top welterweight prospect.

During this time Bays also acquired pro boxing experience. While competing in MMA Bays began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under GFteam’s Vitor Olivera, who holds multiple world titles. In just 8 short years, Bays achieved his black belt and has won multiple titles including:

• IBJJF Miami Open -1st Place
• IBJJF Atlanta Open -1st Place
• IBJJf Chicago Open -1st Place
• IBJJF Cincinnati – 1st Place
• IBJJF 2017 No-Gi Master Worlds -2nd Place

Aside from competing Bays is very passionate about passing on his knowledge of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to anyone who sets foot on the mats!
